It might be hyper-regional, but as a Wisconsinite and a recently-displaced Madisonian, I’ve never heard of this salad, and the idea has me seething with a rage that is stupid both for the level of ire and for the fact that an unappealing salad deserves at most an eyeroll. I want desperately to know which grocery store…
I’ve never seen Faces of Death, but you don’t get to be a cult film enthusiast without knowing all about the series. I’d say this premise is just about the only way you could reboot the series in 2021; the internet has made the “is it real?”ness of FoD obsolete.
My wife has been vegetarian for more than half her life, so we’re old hands at meatless cooking. We do use a lot of meat substitutes, and my main insight into these is that you should always follow the recommended preparation method on the package. That probably sounds obvious, but the temptation to save time with the…
I’ve never made that connection before, but now that you mention it, I hear it too!
I love that fact that whenever anyone brings up Horror Express, their general reaction is “maybe not a great film, but definitely a good time. Recommended.” I’ll have to check out the Creepshow episode.
Are they bringing back Digit? Digit is the scariest muppet and nobody remembers him. I’m pretty sure they were going for Max Headroom as a robot, but he always looked like a zombie to me.
I’ve had my vaccine, too. Both doses of the Moderna. Had some fatigue a couple of hours after the second dose, but somehow I avoided the day or two of discomfort that all of my other friends went through. No dystopian side effects so far; would recommend.
I'm I'm saying is that you should get vaccinated as soon as possible because the current supply is running out and I have a hunch that Bill Gates is going to take his breakup out on us by switching to regular microchips. The needle is bigger than you'd expect.
Worked great! Definitely keeping these pickles up my sleeve for the next time I find myself with extra asparagus.
I was going to leave a similar but less well-thought out comment. The very things that feel like sloppy, loose plotting in The Craft ring truest to my high school experience.
As an adult I’ve grown to appreciate asparagus and I think I’ll try this a little later tonight to use up the last few spears from a recipe earlier in the week. Garlic, though, since I’m out of shallots.
If you see a child watching Tucker Carlson, call the police immediately, contact child protective services. Keep calling until someone arrives. What you’re looking at is abuse, it’s child abuse and you are morally obligated to attempt to prevent it.
People have come out of the woodwork to defend him on Twitter, but I have to wonder whether any of them would actually voluntarily watch his show.
That last paragraph is essential; it’s easy for clothes chairs to become storage for dresser or closet overflow. In my experience anything that goes into that pile stays for a long time. Better to actually put it away or get rid of it.
Will do; thanks for the suggestion!
One of my favorite chilis uses a small amount of orange peel, and it makes all the difference. You're right though; it's easy to overdo it.
... do you ever convince yourself to do something you hate just because it’s popular?
Pretty much, but... you’re not actually looking up recipes for ice cubes, right?
If the pages of boilerplate preceding recipes is actually important, then you are reading better cooking blogs than I am (not unlikely). In my experience, it’s usually anecdotes and cheerleading about the recipe they already sold you on with a photo. The worst offense, though, is that the main website I use for…
