As a past Foster Parent I can tell you that please voice this desire to remain the parent and that you need help getting those tools. I have always felt like one of those tools and we genuinely celebrated the return to the family once all issues were resolved. Hope you can get the right support system for you and them

Seriously. Try as hard as you can to find support, sometimes women’s shelters have references and services even for parents who haven’t been battered and just need assistance. If there’s any possible way to avoid foster care try it. Not only are child abuses rampant but the hoops you’ll have to go through to get them…
