I love it. It's bold, something Honda hasn't been since 1999. I like the looks but could care less if I thought it as ugly—-It's not the bland oatmeal that's been a staple of Honda's menu for the latter half of the last decade.

No, the Japanese Miata equivalent is/used to be called the Roadstar—commonly mistaken or mis-spelled as Roadster.
