"Newsflash, Volkswagen: you aren't going to sell 800,000 units with a hardtop convertible and a hatchback that's shaped like a protractor."

Dear Stan, I wrote you but you still ain't called/

I know Olbermann has given ESPN a lot of grief during his time but man, when he gets it right, he gets it right.

I usually get all cynical and annoyed by all the fame-loving losers who jump on the "good guy" bandwagon once a celebrity dies. But everything I've heard about Scott seems to indicate that he was a genuinely good guy who loved his job. So I've pushed my cynicism and annoyance to the side.

Sports, generally (and sports journalism particularly), is filled with moments of easy and often cheap emotionalism. But it is also often the most simple channel through which true human emotion can be conveyed. Al Michaels's "Do you believe in miracles?" and Jim Valvano running around like a crazy person are

What the hell?! I mean WHAT THE HELL? This dude is scum. If I was the woman I would tell his wife everything!! This poor woman is going off to visit family and her crappy husband is wining and dining some other woman? Some woman that he basically trapped on Craigslist?! In October 2009, I was a senior at UNC, writing for the Daily Tar Heel. I was covering a women's volleyball match right before Late Night with Roy, which Scott hosted. When the match was over, I was set to leave, and Scott came over and sat at the press table next to me. We chatted for about ten minutes (I knew his

Amen, that ESPN tribute turned me in to a snotty nosed, teared up mess. Rich Eisen's tribute on NFL network fucked me up too.

Who the fuck is cutting onions around here?

I cannot be the only man to shed a tear today. We lost a good one today.

You joke, but isn't that more or less what he did to Terrelle Pryor a few years back?

I choose to interpret it as a sign of feminist alliance, miming a castration gesture in solidarity with rape survivors: a gesture that signals the importance of punishing offenders and standing up for victims. Or, they could just be happy as fuck that they beat the shit out FSU's felonious morons, thiefs & rapists.
