Ms. Davies, Jonathan Franzen is about as “great at writing partner sex scenes” as you are at being a literary critic. But you’re right: Freedom is a “576-page story of a wife who cheats on her husband with her husband’s best friend.” And of course War and Peace is about a bunch of Russian dudes who shoot guns and
