You don’t owe anyone who doesn’t believe you an explanation. Clearly this person grew up during the second coming of the iPhone. 😄

Ok, so this story definitely falls into the “kids say the creepiest things” catagory, but there’s a helluva coda at the end of it, so stay with me. I promise every word of this true. This is what took me from ghost agnostic to believer.

A very good boy?

When I had just turned 6 years old, my family moved from our home town to a larger suburb in a state several hours away. I was still 5 when my parents took me with them to look at the house they would end up buying, and while we were walking through, the little girl whose parents were selling the house invited me to

After my divorce, I spent 4+ years looking for a home to buy for my son and I. I had a very hectic government job and my son had a rare genetic disorder that caused a myriad of health issues. The house where I grew up was pretty new - way newer than any of the other houses on the block. A typical one-story ranch house that you might see in any stretch of American suburbia. Likewise, all the furniture in the house was pretty par for the course. My room had a little-kid bed, a nightstand, a table and chairs

This just happened, on the 1st of this month.

This isn’t my story, personally, but it’s one that has kicked around my family for so long that it definitely feels like it’s mine. It’s been told and re-told, but I do think that the central details are very solid.

The very first house that I bought was haunted...by a cat. I knew the previous owner has a cat because there was a cat door cut into the utility door and when I was cleaning before moving in, there was cat hair all over the carpet.
