Why?

My wife and father in law were in a 737 that hit an air pocket and dropped a good number of feet. Drinks and people hit the ceiling. He’s an aircraft mechanic and thought for sure it was over... but apparently they had a decent pilot and recovered.

Or we gave up on lion style society long ago.

The problem with your argument is you indirectly claim that it is possible to end up human WITHOUT all those messy intermediate steps. That may not be possible.
