This is a tricky one for me.. I mean, yeah, implied consent isn’t consent. But what does implied consent look like vs. implied non-consent? Why not go with a singular pronoun that acutally denotes singularity though? Like ‘it’? Since they/ze/? don’t identify with male/female, that would basically mean they’re/ze/? neither or both, right? You would call something that is neither or both gender an ‘it’ when talking about anything else.

But then we have to sort out that “they/them” actually means “that one person.” It really makes trying to follow a story, either written or verbally, very confusing for some people. It’s almost like flipping back and forth between 1st and 3rd person every other line in a story.
