I didn’t either and I also put a coolant heater on mine. Nothing better than starting your car in -15 degree weather and the coolant temp is already 125 degrees. :-) Car started like it was 80 degrees outside.

GTIs depreciate like crazy though. Golf Rs hold their value extremely well. So if you are going to own the car for 4 or 5 years, the R will cost you no more than a GTI after you sell it.

Oh please! The TDI was the best purchase I ever made. I am going to sell the car back for $5K less than I paid for it and I’ve been driving it for almost 5 years...lol. You actually would have been thrilled with the buyout amount on the Jetta...lol
