The TSA isn’t necessary because it doesn’t work. How many evaluations in which the TSA misses the vast majority of threats do we need before we recognize that the practices and protocols of the TSA are garbage. It’s theater. It wouldn’t prevent another 9/11 because people (including myself) routinely forget to…
oh puh-lease.
I’d guess that you could just do bomb sniffing and be done with it. Nobody is going to let a terrorist take a plane at this point.
And we’re measurably safer with them. Can the same be said about the TSA?
True, but that’s not at all the same thing. There is verifiable proof that seatbelts save lives. The TSA, by regularly failing audits/tests, proves that the system doesn’t work in its current form. Either the TSA is useless, or terrorism by plane just isn’t common. Either way, it seems the current security situation…
Those are terrible analogies. We know that there is a big causative relationship between implementing those things and the reduction of fatalities and serious injuries, and even knew there would be ahead of time. The creation of the TSA was essentially in response to one incident, so it would take a big leap of faith…
“The government is broken! Elect me and I’ll fix everything!”
Bingo.
The government is run by anti-government types that constantly claim that the government is broken. Why else are the ATF, TSA, VA failures?
Honestly, this sort of news is nothing really surprising coming from Jackie Chan’s mouth ever since he became a dog of Mainland Communist China forgetting his roots in Hong Kong & his relationship with the Western World.
It’s a sad truth that things have less of an affect when they keep happening over and over again. I really hope the next US government tries its hardest to do something about this issue. You’ve seen it work in every country and everyone knows that there’s no need for high powered weaponry (LOL IDK WHAT TO CALL IT) so…
Sandy Hook really was a tipping point. At the time, my position was that we need to decide, as a nation, whether were going to do something about guns and gun violence in this country, or whether we were going to accept this reality as the cost of our “freedoms.”
MOTHER FUCKING GOD DAMNIT
They will though. They always fucking do.
But...but...it’s Walmart. A Texas Walmart. Where is the good guy with the gun? Because isn’t that why we have a second amendment?
You just watched the mind of Hideo Kojima finally off the leash of a major publisher.
Time to see if Konami holding him back was a good thing or not.
sony: hey can you say fuck you to konami somehow
Sorry but I just need to vent. If I see one more news story on this where they neglect to mention that this attack was directed at a Gay Nightclub, I might scream. So many news shows are clearly avoiding the fact that it was directed at the LGTQI community and is a hate crime. They keep saying “Nightclub” and that’s…
How are you? I’m thinking of you and everyone else in our community who has to be a journalist today when maybe they just want to grieve.
