Where are the lies? The Ryder thing is common knowledge* (see it, ugh, here) and the Moss thing has been making the rounds again.

Growing up, I always thought my mom was the perfect example of a brave, selfless woman trying to raise three kids by herself because her husband was a deadbeat. Now that I’m all grown up, I realize that she was an asshole at times who used us and turned us young kids in her fights with our dad. I love her still, but…
Yup. A friend of mine met him because her mother was the president of his oldest fan club, back in the day. He flew their whole family out to one of the Pirates sets and gave them all generous gifts, and was very kind. Another friend of mine is related to the side of Depp’s family that he apparently never talks to,…
I have a friend who just had a baby with a guy who clearly has abusive tendencies. And it’s a total disconnect with the guy I’ve met in the past, who is charming and funny and self-deprecating. But apparently when they are alone together he is nasty, dismissive, verbally abusive, and has given the impression that he…
I was just talking to my mom about this today. My father was never physically abusive towards me, but I do remember times where he was physically abusive towards my brother. He was emotionally abusive to both my brother and me, and I later learned how horrible he was to my mother when they were married. Luckily she…
And she’s not even 18. Of course she’s going to defend her dad and of course she won’t think of the plight of women and systematic violence, when she’s just a naïve privileged teenager. It’s kind of nice that she’s defending her dad, actually. The problem are the grown up women and men who should know better but still…
Cool, so the security guard assaulted himself, the hotel room trashed itself, Winona Ryder misremembered things to Natalie Portman, Kate Moss ripped up photos of herself in a fit of jealousy, all those beers drank themselves and then went on television and drunkenly stumbled through that speech, the car drove itself…
If it’s an immediately dangerous situation, the call-takers will tell you to hang up and call 911. The hotline primarily exists to provide support and information to victims and their families/friends. They help with safety planning and finding local resources, and they just listen to people talk about their…
The fucking guy is an animal, no question. And the victim and her family deserves justice. But could we stop it with the prison rape as a wish fulfillment already?
This must be a new definition of “comedy” of which I’d been previously unaware.
I’m not surprised that there was a history of domestic violence in this case.
The original Italian article mentions that she left him because he hit her (well, they call it “a violent incident that disturbed her, though she chose not to denounce him, possibly because she was concerned that it would cost him his job”).
Actually, there is a news segment, but it’s been moved to Extra Gear... Along with Chris Harris... So, basically everything I was excited to see is now in a show called Extra Gear, and the BBC seems to have no interest in making that show with the same level of quality as the original Top Gear... So I wouldn’t waste…
Hate to break it to you, but the challenges have always been fake and scripted.
Isn’t it bad enough that we have to hear about this election every fucking day for an entire god damn year before we get a short rest and then it’s the midterms? You really have to invent more reasons to talk about it?
Why is there alwaysone jerk who has to take any topic and make it political? Give it a fucking rest.
I was a fan so this is a let down, but I’m not so infatuated with him that I can’t accept that he did a shitty thing.
Made me think of an article I read that highlighted the need for shelters that allowed pets. It said that some women would decline a bed at shelters that didn’t allow pets and stay in cars, or on the streets instead because they couldn't stand being seperated from the pet and feared for the pet's life if they left the…
I’m kinda mad that they rejected the restraining order for the dog. I mean at least they granted it for her, but I have unfortunately just seen too many stories where anger is taken out on a pet.
The detail about Amber wanted a restraining order or her dog is quite chilling. To me that says she’s genuinely really fearful of his violence issues (honestly, not that I doubted her anyway). It’s such a horrible situation all round.
