Oh but it does cost you an investment. It dilutes / destroys your brand image. BMW just lost some of my respect for them (and I’m sure there are many others like me). Do this enough I will relegate BMW to the “non-considered” sphere. as will others.

I know Tesla does this too. Teslas have the ability to auto-pilot but you have to pay them 8 grand to flip the switch.

I grew up on american iron, big GM V8's that rumbled the whole house just by idling. Now I won’t go anywhere near a GM car - even considered buying a camaro. I wanted one, but they just miss the mark these days. Gone are the days of my respect for GM or any NA OEM.
