Even though there’s no evidence outside of nutjob conspiracy theorists (i.e. Guiliani), of course CNN dutifully reports on these rumors because it gets coverage and ‘presents both sides of the story.’

The thing is, this is kind of a strange attack. What’s the point they’re trying to make? Who is going to watch this and think “Hilary might be really sick! I should vote for the mentally insane person instead”?

Well if this is a prudish country, which it is, then maybe the godly contingent is bringing her numbers down. We like our first ladies wholesome, unremarkable. We usually get mad at them when they support controversial causes like “vegetables” and “books”—much less show up with their tits out. This isn’t France!

It’s fine to feel sorry for her. I think she’s just your average social climber, and she never expected to be in the national spotlight like this where people are paid money to actually check the things you say.

The US coverage was terrible. NBC showed way too much Michael Phelps, that is was offensive to other athletes. There is no need to show him sitting and doing nothing. Al Trautwig deciding to dismiss Simone Biles’ parents as not being her “real parents” was mean and petty.

I’ll say the unbelievably sexist commentary was my major take-away from this Games cycle. From the World Record swimmer having her glory given to her husband/coach, to the talking heads demanding women athletes put rouge on their lips and cover their zits, it was .....difficult to listen to.
