Yeah, you don’t offer bail or an ankle braclet to a violent domestic abuser who was caught armed after kidnapping and torturing his wife...especially when they lives six miles from one another (says so in source). This judge fucked up royally and it cost this woman her life.

  1. “He also has a history of deferring to the sentences recommended by the probation officers, which was too low in this case.”

I find this news so depressing. Like all those cretins who still defend the actions (and later lies) of Roman Polanski. Would they feel the same way if some man in his forties violated their child like Woody or Roman?

“For instance, I think a judge should take into account things like a person’s prior criminal history, whether they show remorse, and whether jail is actually going to serve a rehabilitative purpose.”

For rape and other deliberate, violent acts? This is a problem which has been brought up in the outrage over Brock

So we just allow lousy judges to stay on the bench? You honestly think that doing that will magically prevent or reduce something that is already happening?

Here’s a list I’ve been working on of these rapists getting no or little jail time. Between the 6 of them they served a combined 3 months. Turner get’s out this friday after 3 months.

So the victims should just suck it up, because hey, domestic abusers need weekdays off from prison and should also get to delay their sentence to attend college so they can play football. Because if the victims don’t, they’ll be preventing their abusers’ supposed rehabilitation.

Thank you for pointing that out.

California actually passed a law at the beginning of summer (I think) that mandated that any school that teaches sex Ed must include a module on consent based on its “Yes Means Yes” law.

I’m not being snarky: I think there is no teaching of consent. Maybe in a handful of independent schools.

My favorite part is the “2TTIC”. Perfect amount of elementary school perversity.

I believe she meant that it wasn't restored after his felony conviction. Which meant he shouldn't have had a gun in the first place.

Calling it a loophole is sort of downplaying it. When Germany changed its backwards law about rape and consent we did not call it a loophole (that whole thing was worse than what is stated here). They left it out because they did not care about women. Not supporting mandatory prison time for sexual assault when the

This is kinda me being a pedant but I do think it’s actually an important point.

I’m confused, did they let him out on bail yet again? I’m all for not incarcerating people needlessly, but does anyone think he’s going to stop? The man has found his passion.

If you’re going to be so unfunny and literal about it, she’s 23.

I visited this doctor. What a quack. He diagnosed my enlarged prostate as “leaky weiner.” Spelled wiener wrong and everything.

...so Ben Roethlisberger could play football for a league that has non-profit status.

You’re amazing. Feels like you see my soul, you know? Listen, there’s this Sri Lankan DJ doing a set in an abandoned van near the landfill. We should totally check him out...
