Congratulations, Mr. Dake, on COTD! I would like to gift you with a Ford GT which this lovely lady will deliver soon if she isn’t two tired.
For when you need to take both your wife and your 19-year old mistress.
Was probably a V6 with an exhaust.
You’re a good person. Used to do the same thing with my 454 truck.
Depends on your neighbors. I wouldn’t care if you redlined it at 3am, I have slept through a fire alarm. (It was college, something about no proper sleep in three days...) The rest of the family might wake up, but I would not care.
It is appreciated. I ride, and my bike is not quiet, but I get livid when people ride down my street at 8k rpm in first in the middle of the night. Have some decency, people!
My buddy and I would roll our bikes down a block before starting them. Our neighbors liked us, everyone else not so much. Thank god I no longer have to be at work by 6am
Nah, not true. It helps because you can get more seat time but I know of more than a few people who were well-funded and never got beyond club racing. If you start young, have wealthy benefactors and have the determination to work hard at the craft, then yes, you do have a distinct advantage. But just being rich? …
I do similar with my Abarth when coming and going at night. Keep it to low rpm and try to coast. Unfortunately, getting up the drive means a few barks.
Mine was about 90% responsible for getting me (lovingly) kicked out of my mother’s house; she and neighbors didn’t quite appreciate that v-twin noise after 1 AM.
For me it was that time I took my brand new Mustang to a Car & coffee event.
Obviously!

This is wrong and correct.
1998: Who buys a water-cooled Porsche???
you travel a lot and bought a VW? Bold move.
Have you ever actually sat in a modern VW interior? It was the selling point for me over buying a 2015 STI when I got my 2015 GTI. I travel a lot in my car (123k km on my current 2015 GTI that I’ve owned from new) so the interior needs to be good.
eventually, he’ll just run out of physics to wreck. Then what?
