My mom got her 2000 Lexus RX300 for Christmas, but it wasn't the "wake up and find the car in the driveway with a large red bow and the perfect amount of snow falling" scenario that Lexus plays out in their commercials. It went more along the lines of my parents going and test driving a bunch of vehicles and deciding

oh laughing at the expense of others death, classic

You sir get 2 thumbs up, classic racism to make my day.

Nice, what you really need to do is get them to take you to the dealer with them and test drive the new stuff. Even if it is a Cayenne or Panamera S you still get 400 hp which is plenty even in those heavy cars.

I agree with you on that. Once you have experienced launch control in a 997 Turbo S you will never be the same.

Love the classics

i think one crucial car is missing from this comp, the Carrera GT. Also, Porsche's don't sound terribly aggressive and exotic in comparison to the italians, except of course the Carrera GT

i never would have noticed that. I would certainly be telling Bugatti to change my wheels asap

I wish! Just getting to drive and be around a lot of them is a lot of fun. I can't wait for the 991's to arrive. We also have a few collectors in town so eventually i will get to at least see a 918 spyder and there are also a few special edition cars like the flatnose turbos from the 90's and even a Singer Porsche

I do get to drive a lot of them yes. Everything but a GT2 and GT2 RS, otherwise i have had the pleasure of driving them all. as well as a few vipers, vettes, R8's and a number of BMW M cars.

I agree that infinite customization is an awesome thing, and working at a dealership with a Porsche franchise i have seen my fair share of ridiculousness as far as optional extras are concerned. The point was just that Ferrari is not the only company charging for colored stitching.

Maybe this has already been pointed out, but Ferrari is certainly not the only company that offers colored stitching. Porsche does as well, and it gets very pricey when you get real crazy with the exclusive options such as leather everything and deviated stitching, painted seat backs, painted body panels, etc. Doesn't

I must say that I am pleased that this car was actually being driven as opposed to being kept in a climate controlled warehouse hidden from the eyes of the envious public. However unfortunate it may be that the car is in pieces at this point, there is no way this goes unfixed. These are worth between $600k and $700k.

There is a reason Clarkson is good at what he does. That is quite an interesting intro to say the least, I like the footage, just needs different background music.

I realize everyone understands a Renault hatchback has no shot at a GT2 RS with equally skilled drivers, but the Ring is a damn scary place. I have been on the ring and people are stupid. Not only are people stupid but Ring officials and construction workers are also stupid causing various accidents

Yes, yes it will.

i agree 100% with the corvettes inside door. I have had the joy of driving a few different vettes and despise this feature very much. Great suggestion.

Well said sir, i work at a Porsche dealership where i have had the pleasure of driving the majority of the model range (except the GT2 and GT2RS) and can honestly say the Cayman, in any flavor, is a blast to drive. As stated above, with a little more power I would love to see how it faired against its larger siblings.

Now playing

The Carrera GT is not only one of my favorite cars of all time, but it sounds absolutely amazing in stock trim, let alone Gemballa Mirage GT or just one with straight pipes.
