Regarding the trackpad - I’m assuming it stems from the way we scroll up and down a page on our phones and tablets. If you think of the trackpad as a touchscreen it kind of makes sense.

You’re correct - the ropes used in rock climbing are dynamic - not static - so they do stretch a bit when taking a fall on them. I think it’s somewhere around 10% of the length.

Yep - I know what it means in French. Even so, that’s the widely used term for what you’re experiencing when listening to music.

When you get that sensation from music it’s referred to as frisson. I don’t get ASMR tingles, but frequently experience frisson.
