they chose to shoot on film for practical reasons, so they could produce the show in California at a time when nearly all primetime network television was being broadcast live out of studios in New York. Christine Taylor as Marcia Brady is one of the greatest casting choices in the history of film. She was fantastic.

Fun fact: Jennifer Lawrence was playing 40-something female characters in Silver Linings Playbook and Joy when she was in her 20s. 

I wonder if the only reason this guy was let go is because he supposedly perved on the owner’s daughter.

Jake & Amy on B99 was handled so well.

My first real introduction was in college, and actually had the opposite experience. You could barely tell that the old money people had wealth, while those whose dads had made the family fortune (with “fortune” sometimes in air quotes) flaunted it every chance they got.

This is the case where Gwen’s reviews are 90% of my motivation for continuing with the series.

I’m at the point where I wish they had never brought Steve back at all. They should have split up as part of the backstory. I don’t recognize Miranda anymore; she is headed straight off a cliff, and it’s strange how she isn’t thinking about Brady’s reaction at ALL.

Random thoughts:

I hate this. I really hate this. The show has always treated Steve like shit for reasons I’ve never fully understood, but tying it in with a coming out narrative for Miranda just feels gross.

I’m no fan of Che, but I at least appreciate that even their reaction was WTF?!

I realized my main problem with this show - it’s a pilot. It’s similar to other recent series like Vida where you realize the entire season should’ve been one double episode, setting up the series.
