No offense to chickens though. Their shit is not nearly as horrible as Trump. Sorry for the comparison, little birdies.

Oh those dudes need to calm down. Anyone who wants to vote for Trump is not going to change their mind because RBG said she thinks Trump is some chicken shit.
I used to date this awful shitbag of a man who was verbally/emotionally abusive, but one of the worst things he ever did was eat an entire pint of Ben & Jerry’s that I had in my freezer while I was out, and said it was because he didn’t want ME to be able to eat it and get fat. I wish I could say I broke up with him…
That is interesting that Jez didn’t link to such an important but unknown out of the field woman. Not surprised Gizmodo did a piece though. And is it just me or have the last 2 or 3 weeks been really depressing.
How in the world does “Here’s someone I never agree with about anything but they seem to be doing the right thing in this particular case” strike you as “hive-mind”?
I hate to be that person but here goes. Molly MacAuley was murdered Friday night while walking her dogs in an affluent Baltimore neighborhood. She was one of the few space economists in the *world*. Where is her story here on Jezebel? This is supposed to be a feminist site. There is little to no news coverage about…
Same. I don’t like or respect Bush either, but (generalizing hugely obvs) Texans who like George can’t stand Barack, and Texans who can’t stand George do like Barack. So it’s a basically perfect pairing for Dallas. There’ll be someone for almost everyone, to show up for and listen to.
You know, there’s nothing that I agree with Bush about anything, policywise. And I’ve thrown a lot of stones his way in his time. But again, hard to see the downside in a bipartisan gathering, and the voice of the last president before the current one is not insignificant.
I agree with you Chritter, this is what we need right now. We need unity.
Bush still speaks for a lot of people, especially in Texas, who consider themselves reasonable. He’s not Trump, at least. A show of unity... well, hard to see the downside.
Also, George W and Laura Bush live in Dallas, so there’s a local connection as well.
I don’t like them either, but this is for the family of police officers in Texas and something tells me that a significant number of them would feel the way you do except about Obama. Having both presidents come makes it apolitical.
As much as I dislike George W. Bush, I’m okay with this. I think this is a time for unity and there is no better show of unity right now than of the current Democratic President and the previous Republican President coming to the service together. I doubt it will heal any rifts in Washington, but I’ll take what I can…
The conflicting emotions I have about this is surreal and frustrating and maddening and hopeful all at once: And really the only thing that I cannot stop from thinking is this.....the last time a President who visited Dallas dedicated to civil rights for black Americans, and who was as violently hated by right wing…
It’s not an investigative piece genius. It’s an op-ed piece about 1 person’s experiences and opinions. Do you need to do research about how you feel about something?
And there are 5x more white people in the country. So the statistic you just cited means black people are almost 3x more likely to be shot by the police.
Pokemon Go deliberately asks to be in places many of us would not normally be seen. By the simple virtue of white people seeing the unexpected, fearing the unknown, and assuming the worst, a black man playing ANY enhanced reality game where, according to racists and cops, ‘he doesn’t belong’, endangers him.
I live in the South and I’m afraid to walk anywhere near someone else’s property lest I get shot. I’m not trying to say I know what it’s like to be black - I’m sure it’s absolutely worse if you’re black, but I do know what it’s like to fear other people and it sucks.
Youre underestimating how quickly old white people pick up the phone to call the cops
You are seriously underestimating what black people feel afraid of.
