Yeah I think we all banked on more people getting vaccinated so that it wouldn't have time to mutate to a more resilient form.... Sigh. My expectations were too high, I guess...

I resisted the bread baking stage. I had friends who didn’t and I got my baked goodies from them. It was a small meaningless rebellion but it was part of my “wait it out” strategy. ‘Cause at some point, we would get ahold of this disaster and return to something like “normal.” Right?

Yeah. I actually received a pneumonia vaccine in November 2019 about 27 years earlier than usual (it’s generally not recommended until you are 65+), partially due to my doctor being aware of the disease developing in China. Also my mom is permanently on oxygen after a near fatal bout with pneumonia in December 2019.

Hey all — your friendly abortion care worker and former Texan here. This is totally fucked. Clinics and abortion funds are already being flooded with frantic calls from people who need to get their abortions. To get around the law, the patient needs to travel out of state and have their abortion NOT in Texas. This

Also, if someone goes to court claiming they “caught” a woman going for an abortion and they’re proved wrong, do they just get to walk away with an “Ooops! Sorry. My bad.”?

I would guess that you would have to go through the effort to take them to court. The case would be thrown out before it was even looked at by a judge and then nothing would be accomplished. The real threat here is the Anti choice clearing houses that are funded and run by groups that can afford to bring cases against

The party of small government strikes again. The state allowing every common citizen to become an anti-choice “deputy”? So you’re incentivizing people to snoop on any woman in the hopes of snagging a $10K payday. What powers exactly do people have? Can they march into a doctor’s office and demand medical info? If a

I’m curious about that, too. I haven’t seen how they tend to implement this snitching situation. I’m hoping that, like this bill’s authors, it’s a dumb implementation. For example if it’s a website without a ton of security built in, then all pro-choicers should let loose the dogs of war and keep the queue filled with

Fucking Texas.

The Sheriff should just get the shot already.

Maybe decades of heavy drug use and alcohol finally fried his brain cells. I have no other explanation other than he has always been a racist conspiracy theorist which pains me cause I always loved his music.

Being belligerently racist on stage to the point people think RAR was necessary is hardly what I call “doing a good thing.”

Now playing

As a 40 year-old who grew up as a 90s teen on a steady diet of 60s & 70s classic rock, I feel a savage justification in always finding Eric Clapton to be an overrated, pompous, annoying, boring jackass. *blasts Hendrix*

You are headed for a destruction, make your time”-cat-teens.

thumping bass intensifies.

Yeah this is unnecessary…may as well let them all wear what they want, if this segment of the population is clearly indulging themselves, expressing their individuality or whatever…

Let the kids do their thing, as long as nobody is getting hurt.

I remember learning this too from the Scouts manual! And I grew up in Minnesota and thought everyone knew about this!

When you’re out in the wildlands and only have water from a brook but you have plenty of raw eggs with you, as is the boy scout way.

My “hillbetty” friend settles the grounds with cold water instead, but obviously she’s using the fancy Hills Brothers coffee.

On the off-chance that anyone else reading this wants to know what djmem3 is talking about...
