Lethal injection is supposed to look clean and medical-ish so that voters feel good about it. Gas chambers seem less humane even if they aren’t. Plus they make people think of Nazis. It’s all about perception, reality doesn’t really factor in.

I’m ok with this precedent. It’s not like the Senate voted down the nomination and the President is trying to force him in anyway. That would be a totally different situation.

This. Trump worries me in the way North Korea worries me. Other countries (China, Russia, etc.) are a risk to us but they mostly behave in ways we understand. North Korea is unhinged and there’s no telling what they might do if having a tantrum. I hope I’m wrong but so far I feel the same way about Donald.
