If you start with Morocco you'll never get anywhere else.  It's got that early-sound thing where sometimes everyone's just standing there on screen and not moving.  There are some good scenes and a few interesting shots, but overall it really creaks.  Skip it unless you're used to early-sound awkwardness.

I like knitting more than I like shopping, though.  I can spend hours wandering aimlessly through a department store and not find anything I think someone will like - but then I can make them a hat or something instead.  Maybe I'm not saving money, but I save a lot of aggravation.

I kind of feel bad for the guy, now that half the comments on the first page are just about how much he sucks.

I'm not a big fan of Kevin Spacey either, but I also don't blame him for anything, certainly not for anything regarding his personal life.  For some people, homosexuality isn't a culture or a cause, it's just a small part of who they are.  You can't blame someone for not taking the clear and obvious risk of coming

I don't see how any of that is anyone's business.  We don't live in the kind of a world where being openly gay will not have consequences; nor do we live in the kind of a world where gay rumors and speculation are not hurtful.  That sentence in the review was extremely inappropriate.  I'm

But…we saved you.

I used to be a preteen girl, but I think I was probably reading in the bathroom and hoping no one would find me.  I mean, probably.

Yeah, I had to reread that a couple times because I was sure I was interpreting it wrong.  What I really don't like is the term "closet case," as though someone who doesn't reveal their sexual preferences is somehow obligated to do so.  No, actually, he's not; and if he were gay, doing so could have a marked negative

Lena Olin though…in that hat…

I would just like to say that I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out here this week, griping about movie rankings.  There's nothing like a good old-fashioned list of movies.  Any plans to do this for other decades, AV Club?
