I liked it too, although the twist was pretty well telegraphed.  But I think in general the fanbase just always wants it to be a different show than it is.  What I look for is entertainment and a dash of idealism, not some kind of science fiction masterpiece.

I've never seen this show but I love time travel stories, so I am wondering where is the best place to start or an episode that will let me gauge whether I'll be into it?  I remember seeing the promos on Fox for the first season and it looked like another lame X-Files ripoff, but it actually sounds really interesting…

I just assumed they had signed a contract with her before they switched investors.  So now they're stuck using her.  But I might just be trying too hard to make this show make sense.

Ah ok, that makes sense that he might go there on his own to learn more about her.  I thought the episode was implying that he grew up in a whorehouse, which is confusing.

I thought she died giving birth to him?  There was a flashback where that happened in his kitchen.
