You, too, were the tax auditor of the year?

They did, but it was Earth-667 Jonathan Majors, not Earth-666.

He was also a prince not a count.  Elizabeth Bathory though was a countess and she had family in Transylvania and was Hungarian, plus there's a lot more myth of blood with her then with Vlad.

Plus, Stoker’s Dracula isn’t even Romanian (or Wallachian), he’s from a Transylvanian Hungarian minority group.

This film, like Stoker’s book, made the count and Vlad the Impaler one and the same”

I think Dale and May were likely doomed no matter what because Dale had no interest in listening to May’s ideas and May wasn’t assertive enough to force him to (to be clear - I blame Dale more than May). And also Dale’s idea was terrible - trying to play it safe in an all-star competition is a surefire way to land on

People often joke about terrible things.  The very next paragraph says her mom has been filming in Toronto and her dad has been touring heavily.

I’m pretty sure she was joking.

If he’d just let this movie rollout like normal he could probably let the bad press roll off his gigantic shoulders.

It is a bit ironic that among the weakest parts of each film were the lack of a clear, compelling, worthy antagonist for the lead to face off against. Combining the two films into one would make each character more interesting and give them less muddy storylines.

The behind-the-scenes drama at Warner Bros/DC is honestly more interesting than some of their recent movies.

It’s amazing to think that the thing that’s going to ruin the public’s love affair with the Rock is going to be the Black Adam movie.

It’s like Capone going down for tax fraud but much, much dumber.

Yeah, I’m kinda thinking Vin Diesel had the Rock figured out.

Great casting with Paul Raci as Lydell, he walks the edge of a mustache twirling villain and a truly terrifying individual. The way he walks toward his antagonists to get in their face mid-dialogue is very effective. This is the guy in Sound of Metal, right?

Or worse, Della arguing with him over it as “the sensible one” and positioning her as the female scold. I also truly loved how they set this up.

Rhys did an impression of Lithgow’s character this week, and it was pretty funny.

The characterization, phenomenal acting, breakneck pacing, and heavy thematic questions were all expertly balanced, making for one hell of an experience. And I think making it historical fiction instead of a documentary was a wise choice in many ways.

Anybody else think (JMO spoiler: Brooks’ dad had him killed, and had Holcomb get it arranged.

I feel like Della has been pretty stealthy about being a lesbian? Her relationship seems to be a secret from everyone but Burger and her flirting with the new woman this episode was mostly done through glances and coded language.

The first season and much of the second of the original Perry Mason was based on Erle Stanley Gardner’s novels. Gardner of course was a lawyer. An interesting aspect — since novels written over a number of decades were the source — is that sometimes Perry was depicted doing shady things to protect and clear his
