Speaking of lampshading, this episode had a bit too much of it for my tastes. It got really repetitive with how they kept calling attention to the obvious Tommy reveal. It’s not clever. It’s just acknowledging some formulaic plotting. Make the joke and move on.

I’m glad the creators have distanced themselves from this meaningless jab that was probably thought up by an intern at Adult Swim. Funny seeing as how this season of R&M has arguably been a mixed bag.
