“Despite its infuriating control issues, awful stealth missions, interminable boss fights and half-baked sidequests, I cannot discount Gravity Rush 2’s mammoth ambition and abundance of otherworldly charm. If a game must be a mess, at least let it be this exuberant a mess.”

Vice City is #1 for me. I know the series has gotten better since then. But it peaked for me in VC. Since then it’s been a case of diminishing returns. Each new entry just feels like a polished rehash of what came before.

Well there’s a difference between working with Russia and caving to Russia, praising Putin while insulting Obama, lying about your ties to Russia/Putin, and so on.

Oops. Nothing goes over my head. My reflexes are too fast.

Are they really getting away with it though? I mean, the Wii U was a failure. You have to wonder how many people are actually buying these VC titles outside of hardcore fans. Hopefully they will wisen up and get with the times.

Shovel Knight is already available on pretty much everything. And it has been confirmed for Switch.

He sounds like a bored Solid Snake.

Thanks for the impressions! I’m not too surprised to hear the propped up monitor play-style doesn’t feel too great. I’ve tried to play some Wii titles (Metroid Prime) on the Wii U tablet and the screen is just too for most settings. How did the rumble feel with the JoyCons?

Can you comment on the rumble/feedback of the Joycons? At any point it feel like a glass of ice water? If so, how many cubes?

I’ve actually seriously considered this today. I suspect that there are people in the upper ranks at Nintendo who are disruptive to the process. It seems they get hung up on creating these gimmicky titles that demonstrate the capabilities of the system, which is all well and good. But they always feel half baked.

I can’t believe Arms isn’t just included with the system. No way in hell I’m buying that as a stand-alone title.

The graphics are outdated but I wouldn’t call them terrible. The first party content coming out on Wii U looks fantastic, though obviously not as good as more advanced systems like PC, Xbox One, Or PS4. But still the Wii U is leagues better than 3DS, not to mention the larger screen size and the controls are on scale

“Don’t you think a handheld games console would be a better investment in that regard? Better battery life and no limitations on where it can go?

This is one of my biggest annoyances when flying. Just put up some clear signage and be done with it.

But Wii U offers a console experience on a portable screen. It’s not the same experience as a 3DS or Vita. It’s beneficial to someone who wants more horse power and a larger screen but doesn’t want to hog the TV to themselves. I love being able to play Wii U titles while hanging out with the rest of my family.

Oh, upgrade my hard drive? Just upgrade my hard drive? Why don’t I strap on my hard drive helmet and squeeze down into a hard drive cannon and fire off into hard drive land, where hard drives grow on hard drives!?

I’m in the same boat. Tempted to try out the PS4 version and try to get my gf to play co-op. Gamestop has the ultimate evil edition for $20...

One of my favorite games this year that hasn’t been mentioned on any “best of 2016” lists: AM2R. I get why reviewers aren’t including it. It was an unlicensed remake. But it was some of the most fun I had last year.

I read this script a few years ago and have to admit that I loved it at the time. But I lost all interest as soon as I saw the first trailer. My theory is that they botched the tone and style of the film. It was written as a subversive romantic comedy with a ludicrous sci-fi premise. But the vibe I get from the

I hated the fishing at first but eventually I got the hang of it (on mouse/keyboard). I imagine using a controller would be even easier. Just keep trying. Your skill level will go up and you’ll get better gear, both of which make it easier.
