A fair question, sure. Much like with conventional sports, if the layout was different, then there would be different rules, and thus you wouldn’t really be able to call it baseball/basketball/etc.
I imagine this is yet another thing we won’t get in Canada.

Compared to the game layout, are the cathedral and castle switched around here?
It does indeed make it more amazing, because the greater the HP of the monster, the smaller a window you have in order to get the killing blow. Not being able to see the monster also means not being able to see how much HP he has remaining.
