It’s kind of funny how everyone here is assuming that I must be a bitch who deserved the poor treatment I got.

Apparently me saying that the ones I’ve interacted with were condescending = me saying ALL nurses are condescending.
Did you read what I said before you commented? No? You just wanted to be condescending?
Yeah the doc prescribed it without coming to see if the insulin had started to have the desired effect.
He did. He’s had type 1 diabetes since he was in his twenties, so both he and my mother know what’s going on with it (this actually predates my own bad experiences).
You don’t know me and I don’t think you can make a legitimate assessment based on a comment as brief as the one you’re responding to.
I would, but I can’t ungrey you as I am permanently in the greys myself.
I had a nurse who cried when I was coming out of surgery and I told her about how I got to be there.
Haha - I had one try to find a vein multiple times, both arms etc. Finally he finds one in my wrist (below my thumb), turns around to attach the IV... but he forgot to clamp it so blood is just pouring out all over the floor. I got used to needles a long time ago, but that was a new one!
Please see some of my responses to other folks - some are still in the greys.
My dad was in the ICU for diabetic ketoacidosis and my mom had to physically stop a nurse from giving him a drip with glucose in it. You have to be your own advocate when you’re in the hospital,
Yeah, they just kept pushing and pushing even though there was a lot of resistance... suddenly... POP.
Yeah, they punctured my sinus with an NG tube that was supposed to be for another patient and then belittled me while I was choking and bleeding from my nose and mouth.
All joking aside... I have had some TERRIBLE nurses who were more dangerous than helpful.
She says she’s a science major...?
The whole thing is sarcastic. I’m sorry you couldn’t appreciate it without a “JK” at the end.
...
As an alum of University of Iowa I can say that the binge drinking culture there is second-to-none.
My fiance does all of this stuff and I’d be lying if I said it didn’t bug me sometimes.
Not orthodox at all... but I never considered myself attractive and would effectively date less attractive men because I thought I could count on them... (I have this thing from middle school where I find conventionally attractive men inherently untrustworthy)...
