You delete that post RIGHT FUCKING NOW!

I am quite excited about the changes. The game already feels great and they’re taking a step in the right direction, which is fine in month 3 of a game that is expected to run a few years. The post suggests the devs care about the game; too many players act as if Bungie WANTS the game to be bad.

It’s a step forward. People forget vanilla Destiny was by far uglier than Destiny 2. The pointless slogs to and from orbit, the awful blues from purple engrams, the purple ammo drought, finding and timetabling public events was impossible, awful inventory space and awful interfaces, and the worst planet matchmaking

Addiction is its own special beast, and it comes with some significant caveats that folks who’ve never battled addiction sometimes (not always, but sometimes) fail to understand.

That you lack empathy for this young man’s situation doesn’t make you a bad person, but it does mean that you’ve either been fortunate enough

The only people that loot boxes etc... ‘prey’ on are those who are incapable of delaying their own gratification.

Micro transactions didn’t happen in a vacuum, or because “corporations are greedy” (although they are). Games are getting more expensive to produce than ever, and fan expectations for the quality of the game experience is higher than ever- and as such, it is becoming a simple business reality that the standard, $60

People have literally been saying each fan crisis was a “make or break” moment since Vanilla Destiny. Next thing you’re going to tell me is how everybody’s to abandon the franchise to go play The Division

Game communities are getting more and more toxic, it’s getting to the point to were it’s starting to effect my enjoyment of the games. Everyone needs to chill the fuck out.

Dear god whoever is going on that stream tomorrow is going up against a firing squad.

The vast majority of all mobile games, especially the ones that actually make money and have a large install bases, are free to play. PopCap was late to transition to this model and paid a heavy price for it.

Could you elaborate on why you feel the original game mechanics offer a better gameplay experience and community building?

This was inevitable.

What players don’t realize is this lets games be cheaper OVERALL. Developers aren’t swimming in money because of this, they’re using the cash to make blockbuster, higher-quality games, raising the bar for all players and keeping prices low.

Right-o.

I always believed that the magic I felt in 2004's WoW was within the game itself. But I’ve gotten off and on the MMORPG hamster wheel enough times to know that the magic was really in the fact that I was in my 20s, lived with a bunch of gamer friends in a gamer/techno nerd apartment in Brooklyn, had tons of free time,

It’s also a neat monetary fact that, if you start with a penny and double it every day for an entire month, at the end of the month Sarah Huckabee Sanders will still be a total asshole.

I get that you like playing games a specific way, but your crusade against HUD UI elements is frankly getting old. The lack of a minimap in AC: Origins is one of the few major strikes I have against the game. I’ll agree to the ability to toggle them on and off, but I feel like you’re just being vindictive at this

ONE alleged incident from 30 years ago shows a ‘clear predilection’?

Yep. Just 30 minutes ago I explained how confirmation bias works to a friend, where people see only what justifies their pre-conceived notions.
