Nah, the whole Bronze/Silver/Gold tiers for completion time are overplayed. And I like the idea that an operation that is super-important, ie a strike that would qualify for the Nightfall protocol, would have a time limit. You can find pickup groups for Nightfall and Raid readily via Destiny (2)’s companion app that Bungie released itself...
