You should give iMT a try. I was surprised how well it works when dropping down a gear. You have to turn it on every time you drive it though, it doesn’t stay on…

As the owner of a 2019 Corolla XSE, I can confirm it’s not fast.
It is fun to drive though - one of the best manual transmissions I’ve used.
