i imagine a House-like scenario where we find out that the foam causes some kind of long-term chemical reaction that makes you horribly sick. they have to remove it, but its completely already binded with real bone. everyone freaks out, but House just amputates the whole leg and then makes some witty comment.

i dont believe that an ipod on full blast (even with noise cancelling headphones) could drown out a train horn. those things are extremely loud. also, shouldn't he have been able to feel the vibrations of the approaching train at his feet?
