Thank you. A lot of people seemed to be speaking past the question (that I should have asked more directly): why not just sue UCB for unjustly banning him from employment. I’m gathering that because the UCB thing is more like a freelance gig, defamation against Pierce was an easier case.

But your husband sued the workplace that had the information. If I’m reading the post correctly, he is claiming he sued Pierce hoping that would force her to sue UBC for the information they have. Why not just sue UBC directly.
