People see that seed of something interesting and go absolutely HAM on the idea that this kinda cool premise can be extended into a cinematic universe. But like you said, this isn’t a franchise thing, and the premise has already been overextended.

Yeah, I can agree with that. The N64 and PS1 were the awkward teenage years for gaming, and so, so many of their games don’t hold up well. Those that do (Mario 64, Ocarina of Time) are extensions of the SNES, but the ones like GoldenEye that try to push the graphical limitations of the console look TERRIBLE.
You hit on a bigger point that has bugged me since about the time Daniel Bryan had to retire and the company was hit with their insane spate of injuries: there’s no connective tissue to ANYTHING that happens. The company is so gun-shy when it comes to creating actual, compelling storylines and is so focused on…
Are these kids racist? Probably. Are they “burn a cross on your lawn and lynch somebody” racist? Probably not. They’re most likely the kind of racist that makes “Tyrone doesn’t see his dad anymore” type of jokes and think that getting a rise out of somebody is the height of hilarity. They see Trump as this wizard who…
I’m an atheist and have many, many criticisms of organized churches and their teachings on a broad level, but to pretend like they don’t do good in this world is insane. I work with the homeless in a very cold, very expensive city, and every year the number one group to give donations and cook meals is always the…
My general rule is: if I’m going out with one other person (not in a group situation), then I need to be prepared to pay for the entire thing. I regularly meet a friend on the weekends for drinks and dinner, and I budget accordingly for the whole ticket. 99 times out of 100 it doesn’t come to that, but it’s good to…
I think that’s true to a point. Most of my family works for the DOE, and I did for a while, and a good chunk of the scientists and middle management types are libertarians who somehow hate the government that signs their checks.
Jesus, everytime the movie is mentioned we suddenly have to relitigate the entire film, frame by frame.
That’s some “Batman will win any fight if he has time to prepare” type of argument. I think if peak-Jordan existed in this era he would be top 10 for sure, but 90's Jordan would have a hard time adjusting to the modern game, just like how Steph wouldn’t exactly thrive in the buzzsaw, slower pace style of Jordan’s era.
My boxer curls up in the crook of my leg, then about half way through the night stretches out across my back. She also has very vivid dreams and does these little howls and kicks her legs. I usually have to nudge her awake, then she reorients herself and sleeps soundly. She is the best sleeping partner I've ever had.
You joke, but I lived in Utah for a while, and you can bet your last dollar that any black person there was a Mormon who was going to BYU.
Oh please. It's not like Nintendo is some small start up with no experience in America, they've been operating in this country for 30+ years. They should have known better, and they rectified the situation.
My big problem with the game is that it has been touted as this amazingly realistic and immersive cowboy experience, but it only goes half-way, and in the most annoying ways possible. For example: your horse has to be in whistling range to be called, but will magically teleport during the big missions after cutscenes;…
My local Hannaford does not do that. Hell, I’m basically on auto-pilot when I go to the grocery store.
I mean, I live in Vermont and I’m not disagreeing with your take, just a little confused as what caused your intense hatred.
I have a boxer who I’m pretty sure is more inbred than an English royal. She very regularly will stare at the doorframe, then get absolutely startled out of her trance by the tiniest noise. She is, however, a master of non verbal communication, and it took me and my brother a good two years to figure out that one side…
I live in Burlington, and it bar none the worst possible place for an airport. I’ve flown out of the airport maybe 20 times, and half of those have been delayed dur to weather. I was going to take a long weekend in NYC once, which is a quick 90 minute jaunt from BTV, but weather delayed my flight 7 fucking hours. I…
My gripe with Breaking Bad, and the same one I have with shows like House of Cards, is that it’s Walter White’s world and we’re all just living in it. I never felt any connection to Walter or to anything he was doing, and that drastically took me out of the show. BCS has actually, honest to god characters that do…
Fear will keep the local systems in line.
