After a quick check, and some comon sense, you're right : shootings are generally, as I said, spontaneous but mass shooting are more than often planned events.

I think it's because most of violent donestic incidents are not planned, but eruptions of violence due to someone who, at one time , "can't take it anymore". That's why guns are dangerous because, in that kind of situatiıons, they look like the easiest solution.
