First, Valve is a huge multi billion dollar company. Not a grandmother selling handmade quilts... Nice strawman argument.

I’ve also seen it here in the Kotaku/Steamed/i09 comments too.
you really can’t expect an online retailer to know the full consumer laws for every country they sell to
Do you have any idea what you just suggested?
It was more of a generic comment based on things I’ve seen in the past. Especially on the Steam forums, where saying anything less than pure ass kissing is usually shouted down with “YOU SHOULD BE GRATEFUL VALVE DOESN’T HAVE TO DO THIS YOU KNOW!!11!”. And yes, I’ve literally seen accusations of “gamer entitlement”…
All I see is people discuss consumer protection policies...
Maybe it’s just me being in the giving spirit, but I kinda feel bad for anyone who would be so emotionally attached to fictional characters that they would be legit heartbroken that one turns out gay.
That’s the thing that I noticed as well. The rest I couldn’t care all that much about.. maybe because I’m Dutch and the whole LGBT thing has been ingrained in our culture for decades now? I dunno, it doesn’t seem all that special to me, at least not to the point where it needs a 17 page essay to agree how fine we are…
I’m not against diversity, but I am against “diversity for diversity’s sake.” What does who she has sex with matter in an online shooter?
If someone gave Kotaku pre-release footage of a Fallout game that showed the character killing a kid, I guarantee that person would be labeled a tipster or anonymous source.
So they dox a kid, who they call a troll, over stolen videogame screenshots.
Literally nothing to do with political correctness...
I still cannot understand people who decide to go on the Internet to enter chats and message boards so they can be as inappropriate as possible.
So is her new animation meant to be sexual and fetishey? Or is it just the horny fandom making it that way? It looks to me like when she steps down it’s like meant to crush someones throat or something. Anyone turning a kill move sexual has...issues.
If people want to run around social media gushing about how much a fictional video game character turns them on, people are certainly allowed to laugh at them.
“me, an intellectual:”
Oh ok, its good to know 20 million players is the cut off point for where people are no longer allowed to voice their opinion. Or is that just for whatever game Tumblr has latched onto this month?
Never has a community of gamers made me hate a game before I played it. I wish I could fire every copy of Overwatch into the Sun.
