My weekly search terms are “Volvo”, “Saab”, “Miata”, “Rx-7" and then a blanket search for anything under 2k to see if there’s anything interesting for somewhat cheap that I might have missed.

TBH, I’d believe it if it was a flight from somewhere like Texas or Alabama.

My friend’s Saabaru.

I can imagine the conversation that led up to this.

Wait.... Are we sure they’re going all the way to the artic circle? Because VW and Mercedes to some cold weather testing where I live, about 100 miles south of the arctic circle and I see them rolling around town all the time testing. They could be going to Canada though.

I didn’t get why someone with a 911 turbo s would have to look to internet forums and fake time slips to get a sense of self worth. That’s a dope-ass car and he should be happy just to own one, then I saw that he doesn’t so that was explained.

Agreed. That comment was a solid 11/10.

This guy’s a genius!! If the world economy takes a shit and money is worthless, the ultra-rich person who decided to buy this 250 will still be okay because the market value for obscenely expensive old Italian sports cars is completly independent of things like the “world economy” or a “stable government”.

I need to be prepared for any eventuality, so...

The 80s must have been a great time for you.

My TI-nspire CX CAS laughs at your HP. You may have RPN to give you that superior feeling, but I have a gameboy emulator as well as a WAD player for playing DOOM.

TI-84? That calculator is for rookies. The real shit goes down on the TI-nspire CX CAS.

Not too bad. It’s not a smart car.

In my ‘82 Rx-7 faith and hope are the main tools that it needs.

My friend has one and here in interior Alaska where we don’t salt our roads and there is no salt water. It has minor rust, but nothing too serious. Mostly engine troubles.

The only car chase scene that’s remotely realistic is the one in Rush.

Volvo V70R. You can find one for far under budget and still get everything you were looking for.

I already admitted to not know anything about him as a person, and commented on another person who called me out on that.

The enterprise shuttle never flew and was just a name. Maybe the show created a pop culture that was enthusiastic about space travel, but William Shatner absolutely does not do anything for the space program. He is not an engineer, spokesperson, astronaut, or even a tour guide.

I don’t get to say who’s an enthusiast, nobody does. If you say you’re a car guy, I can’t tell you you’re not. I will say though that I did not appreciate the movies for more reasons than the car angle. In my opinion the movies devolved from 1 to 7 showing worse writing, directing, and plot lines.
