Bolivia just voted to become the next Venezuela.

Some fresh kid cuts for Bill and Barack obviously.

She has her husband's head in the box.

Redesigns don’t make us mad. It’s the cubic buttload of clickbait ads we have to wade through, and also seeing that one guy’s face for weeks at a time. I forgot his name, but unfortunately won’t forget that image that would never end.

(dips finger into pan . . . licks finger . . . smacks lips)

It’s actually a shelf for our sound system. This is the “Haribo Mann”, it was used in the past in shops to sell gummy bears.

David is looking rather fit.

David mentions that he is a Short Fellow, but even so his friend is be Andreas The Giant... Look at the size of that guy!

I’m surprised that you’re surprised by ashtrays in the back. Every thing had ashtrays everywhere back in the day. Where else were kids supposed to stuff old gum and things?

I’m not certain if your US-spec radio will work on continental FM signals. US FM center frequencies all end in an odd single decimal (.1MHz, .3, etc.) while European frequencies usually are in even single decimals (.0MHZ, .2, etc.), sometimes even in odd dual decimals (.05MHZ, .15, etc.).

Germany also has Schmallenberg (two “L”s) and Schmalenberg (one “L”) and they’re about 4 hours apart from each other. I found out the hard way.

That van is indeed incredible! Now since you’re in Erlangen, every time I drive down the A3 to Austria I always stop by the same restaurant to have lunch. The place is called Autoport Tennenlohe and it’s located on the outskirts of Erlangen. Their food is incredible and pretty cheap as it’s aimed for truckers. Also

One of the worst road-trips of my childhood involved being held captive in the back of a similar generation Dodge Caravan with all windows orange-tinted from years of cigarette smoke, while the driver (one of the Boy Scout Troop dads) lit each Lucky Strike off the previous for two days straight, with the windows up. I’ve been to Europe twice, and both times the only pickups I saw were Rams.  1500, 2500, etc.  They tow with them and do all the American lifestyle things.

A -H registration would also save a lot of taxes, but there are several things that could prevent the car from being eligible. If the car is not in good original condition, it can’t be registered as a classic car, so maybe the Scout has non-period modifications.

simple, register it as an oldtimer (which the above car isn’t for some reason).

Expect many, many, pictures of Passat wagons and such. Wagons are all over the place here, to them it’s something exotic.

Thinking back to my Army enlistment in the 3rd ID as NATO headcount in Germany ( a lot of good memories), two car things stand out:

Just hope they don’t get the dreaded “Click of Death”
