@TheOtherHalf: Don't be so hard on the author. Although I can't relate to the idea of not having kids for financial reasons (proud father of 3), in the end it's a matter of priorities.
@BadFloppy: Agree in part. In terms of maintenance/repairs you are better off buying a relatively popular used car than a nice (though rare) import.
Smartphones are a productivity tool. Last time I went without one (had to return it to former employer) I do remember missing the fact that I could catch up with my reading, stay in touch (email, chat) and occasionally surf.

Tell me about it... I had this reaction where my heart would race and I'd jump off my seat every time I heard Nokia's ring tone; used to receive constant calls from a demanding and rude boss. Left job and returned back mobile; hate that ringtone; hate it.

Best resolution to a complaint ever: after numerous attempts with the third-party company that handles Directv's call center, found out the fax number of Directv's GM (this is Mexico). Sent a polite, short and sweet complaint. Next day I got a call from an exec and everything got cleared out immediately.
HTML signatures in Gmail rule; I think this should be a default feature. I switch between three computers regularly and hate having to set and reset signatures through addons in all of them.
@zhinker: Bet most staff in the hospitality sector relies on this principle.
Don't mean to be rude or non supportive of struggling entrepreneurial developers but I find the additional functionalities quite limited relative to the cost.
