I hate suits. A few weeks ago I went to an interview wearing one. Checked with HR beforehand on the company dress code and knowing where I was coming from the advice was "we'd strongly recommend a suit". Should have gone with my instinct: none of the VP level people I met was wearing formals. I stood up like a

HOLY CRAP...it works from Mexico... the accuracy is amazing. Kind of scary though.

@PixelProphet: Another Fliqlo fan here. Have it in all my computers.

Best garage sales ever: expatriate friends heading back to their home country.

Grooveshark gets my vote mainly because it works overseas.

@ericesque: Yes... after several failed attempts at work. We ended up with an online staffing and prospects pipeline in Google Docs. It just hit everyone that it was a far more effective way to track/update stuff; no need to make it mandatory.

Be careful of what you wish for: I used to envy those that telecommute... til my boss started to do it. I remember our daily conference call like this "so, regarding that status report......ANDRECITO!!!! PUT THAT KNIFE DOWN!!!... I'm sorry, go on, you were saying...".

@Dacker: Agree with the extra step problem of emailing links. As far as sending resumes as PDFs, not much luck on my end. DOC is the defacto standard.

@moe52: I like the idea of cover letters so long they convey in a couple paragraphs (150 words) a unique message; even if it reads casual. Canned one-page long cover letters? Don't bother.

I used to email links to my resume, but seriously, perhaps because I'm not in the IT field, all these decision makers would reply back asking me to email it as an attachment. That said, I still think it's a great idea.

@kzooguy: Thanks for your polite suggestion to this complete noob :)
