The article by Katie Chironis on Polygon is interesting, but... what the hell? She says Elsinore would need almost 672,000 dollars using the math her whole argument is based on. And then they settle for 12,000 dollars?! And the Kickstarter for Elsinore even says that this low budget is enough to make the game?!
The headline leads you to believe that these studios are actually trying to trick their contributors. This is no where near the truth. It’s this kind of “journalism” that spreads misinformation and mistrust in the developer/gamer relationship.
Patrick.... What a piece of shit headline. I used to think you were above this.
Why would you bring that many games with you in the first place? It’s “really low”, yes but would have been less dramatic if he didn’t bring so many games with him. Kids..
But that wouldn’t play into the narrative that kotaku, polygon, and other band-wagoner’s have been riding for awhile.
So is Kotaku gonna report on the new study out of Germany that concluded that video games don’t cause sexism? Because this has been Pretty big.
the notion that a nudity mod in a video is somehow immoral is so weirdly puritanical, especially from these developers. nonetheless, no matter what the franchise or who the developers are, i think you need to develop your moral compass a little more if you think a nudity mod is inherently immoral.
Well, maybe he'll think twice before smashing $500 sunglasses
You're absolutely right. Hang on to your consoles and enjoy fond memories of gaming yore.
This is NOT ok.
I can't wait to see the pictures of the police dragging those teens out of their mom's house and into a cop car.
Patricia is mildly retarded
It takes a sick fucking person to want to play as that shitstain.
Not a huge fan of him using his own son as an experiment. Hopefully it was all done willingly by his son, but it doesn't seem like one can do this experiment without being forcible about it.
This is weird and pretentious. I like games as much as the next guy, but this is the same shit as pushing your kid into the sports you played to relive your own memories.
The irrational hate is strong in this one....
Also, it's such an absurd position to take. It's a retailer basically saying "we don't trust ourselves to enforce our own staff's ability to legally sell products".
