It’s a difficult read. My friends with children weren’t able to finish it. I’m somewhat desensitized to sexual violence due to the work I do so I was able to read it without too much distress. It’s written almost entirely as dialogue which I found made the content easier to handle, but it’s still pretty devastating.

There was a whole musical episode! The Helen Keller unauthorized biography musical slays me.

I think Jezebel should cover Busy Phillips’ amazing Instagramming of her Disney Cruise, use of the hashtag #ipaidforthis, and live sharing of the fact that her pilot didn’t get picked up. It’s amazing and emotional.

I felt like such an idiot. Who has mono and doesn’t know it? I’m glad I’m not the only one. I think the scary thing is that level of awful basically felt like normal stress-related exhaustion to me. Not good.

I had a similar experience this winter. Thought I was just stressed but turned out I was walking around with mono without knowing it. I was actually diagnosed after I had already “recovered” - ie I didn’t have any live virus in my blood, just the antibodies. I’m still recovering, months later. Because I didn’t know

Justin Trudeau had a legendary boxing match for charity against now disgraced Senator, Patrick Brazeau. Worth a watch.

Nothing will top Tracy Jordan succeeding at this in order to get a ride to the hospital for the birth of his daughter.

In the meantime, and if you haven’t watched already, Thick of It is so vulgar and delightful. Same creator/writer.

I just do it when it feels necessary. Cards and cheques, I just let it slide. But if I’m giving information for something important and after giving my full name, they only ask for my husband’s first name, I just say “he has a different last name, it’s [name]”. It annoys me every time it happens but the people in your

No she didn’t. She had twins.

Yes. This. I think we can allow her feminism to evolve over the course of 3 years. She’s still young. My feminism changed and evolved significantly in my 20s as I learned and read more.

She’s been doing amazing cameos on Jane the Virgin and Don’t Trust the B in Apt 23.

I’m not saying that she does “good shit” and therefore can’t be racist. I was replying to the comment suggesting that she’s just a model so doesn’t have enough of a brain to understand why this shoot was problematic. And I’m not saying that she just does “good shit”, I’m saying she actually seems to be somewhat

She’s big on promoting STEM for women and has a coding camp for girls. She must have a brain about her.

Hasn’t Jane the Virgin taught us that moms can be virgins too?

I wonder if the difference is more nuanced? The study seems to suggest that girls shift to believing that they are trying really hard, rather than being inherently smart.

Section 1 comes into play only once a violation of a right has been established. At that stage, the burden shifts to the government, rather than the rights claimant, to prove that the limit on the right is justified. That is a difficult onus to meet. So, the Canadian constitutional right is broad and generally easy to

There are provincial hate speech laws although they are perhaps only “aggressive” in relative terms compared to the US. Our constitutional protection of free speech is arguably much broader than in the US because the right covers almost all speech (the main exception is violence) and the government has to justify any

Fair enough.
