was that Tony Todd?

Some of it was tied to pre-release hype too. When you have Casey Hudson coming out and saying that the ending wasn’t going to boil down to an A, B, or C choice - then you get to that ending and it’s essentially A, B, or C... the anger was somewhat justified. It was pretty overblown though, too.

I was let down by it,

Rise of Skywalker was objectively the worst of the three movies, taken as a whole. However, Rian Johnson turning Finn, Poe and Rose into mutineers responsible for the destruction of most of the fleet probably sticks in the actors’ craws a bit.

I think with a time crunch involved in making a big AAA game, it’s reasonable to focus on “key features involved in actually playing the game” even if that comes at the expense of “additional details in the ending.” I have to imagine they didn’t want to go with slides since it didn’t really jive with the production

Also Portal 2. The freaking MOON. The turret opera. “When I delete you maybe I’ll stop feeling so bad.” Wheatley hanging out with the space orb. Chell finally being free. I’m mad we never got closure for Half-Life, but I’m super happy Portal got the ending it deserved.

Horizon Zero Dawn’s ending is always going to stick with me. (Spoilers obv)

the fact that they had the audacity to call this a sequel or OW2 is a slap across the face of every player.

Yep, it's his 7th or 8th final film! I can't wait to see what his next final film will be.

My understanding is that with most contracts, actors don’t get paid extra for promotion. It’s generally part of their original contract, which at this stage would already be paid in full.

No. Oppenheimer is not in the same situation. It (as far as I know) was a SAG production, so those actors were expected to stop working.

No. Although they were in the UK they were there on their US contract. It is only those on non-US contracts who might run into trouble here.

Oppenheimer wasn’t under Equity rules/contracts. It was SAG-AFTRA. So the actors followed the promotional rules (also, the studio knew which is why them moved up the time table on promotion.)

He’s right, you don’t know what form he will take, or if there isn’t something else sinister at the end. This is a spoiler, no matter how much huffing and puffing you do about how we supposedly all knew.

I mean if Zelda was a narratively interesting franchise they might have done something like make Ganon a good guy

My employer is giving us all a paid wellness break which begins on August 3rd through August 5th.  I will be doing nothing but Baldur’s Gate!

Is there a real market for this kind of thing, for classic, important games getting the Criterion Collection treatment?

Several seconds? Amateurs. Did they learn nothing from Tyler Durden? You’re only supposed to add a bunch of frames of it.

The article was “Gundam shows that are similar to G-Witch” not “Here are the best Gundam shows.”

Absolute dereliction of duty to not have mentioned War in the Pocket, Stardust Memory, or 08th MS Team. If G Gundam makes the cut, then the bar must be low.

or just battle angel alita, except she was from mars rather than on mars. Also, all this talk about hunting rogue androids, but nobody mentions bubblegum crisis?  ok boomers

If they’d done the puppet show as you describe in Rise of Skywalker, the fandom just would have complained that it was another recycled idea from the OT -
