@GirchyGirchy: I own a trunk rack, and a roof rack, and have used both. I'm about to use both again when I move back across the country, as my bike won't fit on top when I have 1/3 of my possessions sitting up there. It's never messed up my paint.

@ranwhenparked: The problem with the X-type cars is that, still, every time I see one I think, "awww, they bought the cheap one." I drove a good few of these when I worked as a valet, and even the models just off the showroom floor had shoddy interior detailing. Namely, the wood trim. It looked like they took some

I despise people that have a tow hitch on their medium size sedan or sports car anyway. If you want to tow, get a small truck at least.

@dtptampa: Same. Where's the G2 option?

@Maave: I'll probably be getting a G2 when there's a definite, stable workaround for the rootkit.

@inmate1960: It's a good thing he's the sort that lived in a trailer and only spent money on his car, then.

@blyan-reloaded: I'm right there with you. I can't even trust a pencil sharpener by Sharp, no way would I pay a few hundred bucks for a phone by them.

@brijazz: But it's I'll bet it's faster doing opposite coast shipping than using a large container ship. Of course you could use rail, but the rail network in the US sort of sucks and probably uses more fuel than the blimp.

I hope Amazon does a kindle with this. Price it under $200 and I'd be all over it.... Of course, I don't have a kindle now or anything, but if they gave me competitively priced color screens, I would!

Well written, but here's a tip for use when you're looking for an actual job:

If that doesn't turn you off to fast food, then you deserve tasteless crap and the fat, chemical laden body you'll get from it.

I want a G-wag so much, but will always be frightened off of Mercedes vehicles. A very wealthy oral surgeon, who also happens to be a family friend, Sold his huge engined merc sedan six months before the warranty ran out saying, "Not even I can afford maintenance on this thing when the warranty runs out. I'm buying

@bobbobato - giz's other gay dude: There are cultural differences that result in certain behaviors that seem extremely rude to us be perfectly acceptable, or even the norm, in asian culture. That doesn't excuse the scalping, but contributes to general behavioral trends that we westerners sometimes view as....

@Elhigh: And really, what's hotter than a soccer mom in an R wagon that can kick your ass?

@FlyingAvocado: They were deadly once they were delivered. Not that I think Iran is a joke, their regime is insane and will eventually act like a fanatical badger backed into a corner, but expecting them to be able to deliver a payload like that in a way that is effective is being hopeful at best.

While you wait, go read On Food and Cooking: The Science and Lore of the Kitchen by Harold McGee.

@38thsignal: I suggest you read Soul of a Chef, by Michael Ruhlman. Specifically the part where he discusses The French Laundry. Thomas Keller's tongue in cheek approach to presenting often classic dishes in ways that surprise and amuse are a part of what makes The Laundry the best restaurant in the country, and

@kobiashi001: I agree that you don't say that in the kitchen of a place like that, and to any chef in their own kitchen, unless you work there and you have a rapport with the staff/chef that makes it acceptable.
