While some of the mechanics are the same there are plenty of things you cannot do in the newer games because they were exploits or glitches that can influence how the game is played.

The only reason why these ATs exist in Melee is because the game is 10+ years old and people still play it competitively. If we compare this to any other competitive game out there nobody is playing older iterations of a games in that series, at least not sponsored ones.

This is not a good comparison at all. Smash 4 is the newest iteration in the smash series just like SFV is the newer version of SF4. Just because Melee “pro” players see a huge difference and call smash 4 and melee different games doesn’t make it so. Melee and Smash 4 to most people are almost the same game just newer…

If these top players are sponsored it is part of their contract to meet and greet with fans to acquire more fans or keep existing ones. More Fans = more money, in a sponsor’s eyes.

Most of these he has full versions or large portions in his medleys. Go check out his youtube page, I have listened to so many of his songs and I am glad this is on kotaku cuz he kicks ass.

How is it that Fan games look and feel better than the game from their respective companies...especially for franchises seemingly forgotten by those companies?

I was thinking the same thing. I was hoping for something specific to why 6 buttons instead of just 2 or 4. This button layout the result of not the reason why.

My perception is that most animators had stricter deadlines in today’s market so they don’t have the time to draw detailed characters every frame...and others are just lazier than they were in previous decades.

MegaMan X3 is damn near the same quality in music. I love the entire MMX sound track so much that I listen to it in my car on the way to work as well as the MMX3 soundtrack.

All 3 DKC games have great music. DKC2 definitely has the best overall in the trilogy.

I never got a chance to use this controller. I had the Virtual Console controller. I realize this is practically the same thing without the bottom handles. I bought this only because I had to in order to play Snes games on the Wii, I don’t really like it by comparison to say the Gamecube controller.

I think the Dualshock 4 is the best controller.

I love the gamepad, I use it often even when playing in front of the TV even If I can use the Pro controller instead.
