2019 Pain still being felt-ish.

BIG fan of the book. Discovered the mini-series the other night completely by accident. Starting watching the first episode expecting to be very disappointed. Crazy thing is, I didn’t hate it. There’s potential there. The cast is good. The mixed up chronology is not there, but I don’t think it’s necessary. Not funny

I’ll quote you with one edit: “The book is absolutely, bar none, without contest my favorite book ever,...

The South was always going to lose as long as the North was committed to the fight, but there were times when the North could have given up and let the Union split. Hell, I still wonder if it was worth holding onto that region of the US that has dragged us down morally lo these last 250 years, and counting.

I absolutely agree and I like thin, fit women. The caveat is they should still look like women.

Another middle aged dork read it nearly 7 years later.

Here’s a thought. Both Bojack and Rick and Morty are hilarious and clever in their own way. Both have amazed me in their utter dedication to push the envelope. I’m just thrilled they both exist! Why must you tear down one show to praise another? The person you’re responding to didn’t mention Rick and Morty or Daria.

Exactly! Watch everything at your own pace and respond two years late like I do.

I’m from Philly, born 1968, but don’t remember this at all. Help! Help! There’s a hole in my TV nostalgia!

The decision not to pursue that was what ruined both sequels. All the stupid shit that happened in Matrix 2 would have been retroactively awesome and Matrix 3 couldn't help but continue the awesome. But it was not to be.

Agreed. I don't get all the love for this movie. The jokes are so obvious. Not in the same league as Blazing Saddles or The Producers. There's a couple chuckles but most of it seemed tailored towards 9-year olds.

She has a cute way of eating an egg!

There can be only one Bobby: Dean Jones!

I didn't really get this from the first book, which I loved. But this is very true of the sequels, which I increasingly didn't love: I don't know what these two characters have been talking about for 15 pages, but according to the author the Bene Gesserit priestess just won the conversation with something impossibly
