Oh and at the very end I hope the ghosts of all the good characters appear, like how ghostly Obi-won, Anakin and Yoda appear at the end of of Return of the Jedi. Ned, Robb, Talisa, Catelyn, Rickon, Osha, Maester Luwin, Rodrick Cassel, Barriston Selmy, Hodor, Shireen, Stannis, Renly, Margaery, Loras, Jeor Mormont,

I thought that was a very satisfying finale and am still buzzing about it. The books and show are different things to me although they inform one another, so differences don’t really bother me anymore.

Ugh Hodor’s death was devastating. At least there’s the possibility that Jorah Mormont might find a cure and return to Daenerys. Blackfish has rallied the Tully forces and retaken Riverrun. He’s a badass. I wanted to like Euron but he’s a misogynistic dick. Daenerys won’t like him.

As everyone is saying Hodor’s death was incredibly sad and tragic. No more Hodoring. And throughout the entire series whenever he said “Hodor” he was referring to his heroic death and Meera’s “Hold the door!”

Jon and Sansa also have Podrick Payne! He started off helping and saving Tyrion and now he’ll help take back the North for the Starks.

I’ll admit it, I teared up when Jon and Sansa hugged. They’ve both been through so much and they both started off a little spoiled as they admitted in the show, though Jon was more emo than spoiled. (That’s what’s good about Martin, his storytelling is a little more complex and realistic than you usually get in

Osha was a wildling from north of the Wall before she headed south to escape the white walkers. So she probably saw cannibals when she was living north of the wall.

Possible spoilers!

I think it could be true. Lyanna had Rhaegar’s non-identical/fraternal twins at the Tower of Joy before dying. Ned took Jon Snow and the Reeds took Meera.

The person who said “the Taliban” is correct. The Sparrows are religious fundamentalists who have sprung up from the destruction of the War of the Five Kings. Bad guys can fight bad guys. The Sparrows took Loras b/c he’s gay and Margaery b/c she lied about her brother. Margaery did a lot to ease the suffering of the

Such a great episode. Rob the reviewer made a great point I hadn’t considered. Cersei believes Tommen will die. I was just thinking she’s been chastened after her walk of shame and children dying and is now more resigned. Part of it is the prophecy though. In the books, she’s kind of done and they want to send her to

Bernie is Daenerys! Dream big! Free the slaves!

I’ve read the books a couple times but love the show as well. Being a book reader you get little frissons of excitement over seeing characters on TV and knowing their backstory - like I loved seeing young Lyanna! But up until now you knew what would happen which spoiled it a little. The book is a bit different, more

Jon Snow lying there reminded me of the photos of dead Che Guevara. Google it. Spoilers!

I’m a big fan of Brienne as well. She had a similar scene with Caetlyn Stark, where she swore her fealty after Renly’s death. She is all about honor and serving. I liked her scene with Pod (and in the book) about how she describes how Renly was nice to her at Tarth and that made her fall in love with him. That led to
