I can see already that this’ll be a grower - makes me think more than a little of “All Shook Down”: restrained, somber, and perhaps a future underrated fan fave.

Deerhoof were one of my favorite things about ten years ago . . no ill will intended - I wish the best for them, but they haven’t put out anything in recent years that really grab me. I’m sure they’re still a kick to see live, though.
