There was NO ONE better on the bass than Paul McCartney. Not even anyone as good.

I get tired of these "music critics" who think they're so intelligent, poo-pooing most of Paul's songs and praising John's. John used to refer to the songs Paul wrote like "Lady Madonna," "Maxwell," etc., as "granny music." I wish Paul had punched him in the nose. Who knows? Maybe he did.
