Please, this is why states are going bankrupt - platinum benefit plans, pensions, etc.  You give up salary to get those benefits.  Cant have it all.

If its so terrible, then quit.  As a state employee, you have many protections already. - civil service laws, due process, a non-profit employer, etc.

Unintended consequence. So, what do you think will happen with the ridiculous $15 minimum wage? Will employers give raises to those already at that wage?

Not true. Suppose I buy a 40,000 car in NJ in 2017 and pay my 7%. If I move to Georgia in 2018, my car has depreciated to 30,000 ... I would have to pay GA 7% of 30,000. Something unfair about that.
